Our Temple Judah Youth Groups are for children in kindergarten through high school. We encourage ALL children in this age group to join. The youth groups enable children to develop Jewish friendships and have fun in a Jewish environment. This is especially important in our small Jewish community. Religious School and services do not provide enough time for friendships to develop.
The Temple Judah Youth Education Activities Board oversees all of the youth groups. We try to coordinate different groups' activities to ensure the least amount of schlepping for parents, but it isn't always possible to finish all the groups at the same time and in the same place. Most of our youth leaders are volunteers, although some do receive modest payment for time. Please help our advisors by volunteering to drive, providing a helping hand, or suggesting ideas for meetings.
Youth group dues are $25.00 per child and payable to Temple Judah Youth Ed. Activities Board. Dues will cover all supplies and admission fees. We will not be asking for additional money during the year. The only exception might be to bring money instead of a lunch. The high school group may require additional money for some activities since $18 of each member's dues goes to national. Confidential alternative payment arrangements can be arranged if paying dues presents a hardship. We want ALL children to belong to a youth group.
Please call our Youth Education Activities Chairperson or your child's advisor for any questions, comments, or concerns you may have.
